TITLE
Building Energy Assessment for Facility for the Handicapped on Gozo
ABSTRACT
An analysis was performed to assess and characterize building energy loads for a facility that serves the handicapped in Ghajnsielem on the island of Gozo. The study addressed the pressing need for energy conservation throughout Malta and Gozo, and examines the energy loads within the Arka foundation to power lighting, heating and air conditioning, hot water heating, elevator, kitchen appliances, and dehumidification in the pool area. The overall intent is to provide recommendation to to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste within the building itself. Field studies, literature searches, and data collection and analysis were performed and a report was developed.
