TITLE
Building Envelope Analysis and Assessment at the Arka Foundation
ABSTRACT
A study was conducted with the intention to reduce building energy consumption at the Arka Foundation Respite Centre at Ghajnsielem, Malta. The center is a voluntary, non-profitable and non-governmental organization that promotes the welfare of people with special needs and their families. They rely on donations for the majority of their funding and can not easily absorb the rising energy costs in Malta. After analyzing the building structure and human practices, the group will make practical recommendations to improve energy efficiency within the centre.
